The best self drive car rental apps for Karachi are the ones that operate in Pakistan, show the full price before you pay, and deliver to your door. Get Gaari suits people who want to book entirely from a phone. Rently suits renters who like browsing an online marketplace. SelfDrive Mobility suits travelers who use one account across several countries. Rehan Rent A Car suits anyone who would rather book on WhatsApp with a local operator they can visit.

The problem is that a search for these apps mostly returns Revv, Zoomcar, Zymo and MyChoize. Those are built for Indian cities, so you can install them in Karachi and still find no cars to book. You lose time, and you still need a car.

This guide lists four options that fit a Karachi renter. We run Rehan Rent A Car, so we list ourselves first and say plainly that we take bookings by phone and WhatsApp, not through an app. For each option you get how booking works, who it suits and what the plans look like. A checklist at the end works on any app.

1. Rehan Rent A Car

How it works and who it suits

An ID card, a driving licence, a cash envelope and a car key.

Rehan Rent A Car takes bookings by phone, WhatsApp or in person at our Liaquatabad Town office, so there is nothing to install. For self-drive you need your CNIC, a valid licence held for at least one year, and a refundable Rs. 25,000 deposit. The car is delivered to your home, office or hotel anywhere in Karachi, typically within 1 to 3 hours depending on location and availability.

This route suits first-time renters, families and anyone who wants a person to call when something goes wrong. If a car breaks down, we provide a replacement vehicle within hours. You return the car with the same fuel level you received it with. Payment is in cash (PKR) or by bank transfer, and you get a receipt either way. Our Google rating is 4.8 stars from 249 reviews.

Plans and pricing

Daily rates start at Rs. 4,000 for a 2013 Corolla XLi manual, from Rs. 5,000 for a Suzuki Alto and from Rs. 7,000 for a Toyota Yaris. The 2018 Corolla GLi automatic is Rs. 5,500 a day, so three days cost Rs. 16,500, plus the Rs. 25,000 deposit, which comes back 7 days after return. Monthly plans cut the per-day cost sharply:

Car 30 days at daily rate Monthly plan You save
Corolla XLi 2013 manual (Rs. 4,000/day) Rs. 1,20,000 Rs. 80,000 Rs. 40,000
Suzuki Alto automatic (from Rs. 5,000/day) Rs. 1,50,000 Rs. 1,10,000 Rs. 40,000
Toyota Yaris automatic (from Rs. 7,000/day) Rs. 2,10,000 Rs. 1,50,000 Rs. 60,000

Monthly rentals include free delivery and theft and snatching cover, but accident and collision damage is not covered. The renter is fully responsible for it. Ask about damage terms with any operator before you sign.

A local operator with a WhatsApp number and a walk-in office gives you what an app promises, without the download.

2. Get Gaari

How it works and who it suits

Get Gaari is a car rental app with a Pakistan App Store listing. It describes a tap, book and drive flow, and it mentions an option for people who prefer to drive themselves. That wording suggests chauffeur-driven rental sits alongside self-drive.

It suits renters who want search, booking and payment on one screen and do not need to speak to anyone. Confirm that your Karachi pickup area is covered before you upload any documents.

Plans and pricing

The store listing does not state rates or plan lengths, so the numbers inside the app are your only reliable source. Before you confirm a booking, check:

  • the total for your dates, including deposit and delivery fee
  • whether the car is self-drive or comes with a driver
  • how and when the deposit is refunded

If an app hides the final price until the last screen, compare it against a second option before paying.

3. Rently

How it works and who it suits

Rently describes itself as an on-demand car rental service and marketplace and targets Karachi renters directly. A marketplace model usually means listings come from several owners or fleets, so car condition and terms can differ from one listing to the next.

It suits renters who like to compare several cars and owners before choosing. Read the terms on each listing instead of assuming one policy covers all of them.

Plans and pricing

Plans and rates sit on the individual listings, not in the store summary. Confirm that the car you pick is available for self-drive, not only with a driver. Then ask what the deposit is, what the mileage limit is, and who handles a breakdown.

On a marketplace, you are renting a listing, so read that listing’s terms and not the platform’s slogan.

4. SelfDrive Mobility

How it works and who it suits

A globe, a smartphone, a passport and a car key.

SelfDrive Mobility is a multi-country rental app. Its App Store listing cites 12 countries and 100+ models from 55+ brands. Its Google Play listing mentions 65+ models and doorstep delivery. The figures differ by store and update, so treat them as a rough scale.

It suits travelers and expats who rent in several countries and want one account. Open the country list in the app and confirm that Pakistan and Karachi are included before you register.

Plans and pricing

The app lists daily, weekly and monthly plans. Prices vary by country and car, so read the quote screen for your dates. A weekly or monthly plan usually lowers the per-day cost compared with renting day by day, as our own monthly figures above show.

A multi-country app is only useful in Karachi if Karachi is on its map.

How to choose the right app for your trip

Why Indian apps will not help you in Karachi

Revv, Zoomcar, Zymo and MyChoize rank high for this search, but their listings are built around Indian cities. Zymo, for example, advertises 60+ Indian cities with cars from ₹45 an hour. Rupee pricing and Indian coverage mean no cars for you in Karachi.

Their plan structures are still a useful benchmark. Hourly, daily and monthly options with doorstep delivery are what a good self-drive service offers anywhere, so ask for the same locally.

Download an app only after you confirm it lists cars in your own city.

Checks to run before you pay

Run the same checks on every option. They take five minutes and prevent most disputes.

  1. Confirm the service covers your Karachi pickup area.
  2. Ask for the total price including deposit, delivery and any extra-hour or mileage charges.
  3. Ask how many days the deposit takes to return.
  4. Ask who pays for accident damage and theft.
  5. Ask what happens if the car breaks down at night.

Which option to choose

If you want an app, start with Get Gaari or Rently, check Karachi coverage, and compare the total price on screen. If you travel between countries, SelfDrive Mobility is worth a look once you confirm Pakistan is supported. Skip the Indian apps, because they have no cars in your city.

If you would rather deal with a known local operator, you can book a self-drive car from Rehan Rent A Car by phone or WhatsApp, with delivery anywhere in Karachi. Whichever route you take, get the deposit refund time and the damage terms in writing before you collect the keys.
